Centre For Research, Innovation and Evaluation.

It is the endeavor of the Centre for Research, Innovation and Evaluation to orient the faculty and students of the University towards research and innovation and deliver the benefits of the same to all the stake holders. The Centre also engages itself evaluation of projects sponsored by the Government, Non-Governmental and social organizations.

Objectives of the Centre:

Undertake Research Programs and Projects in the field of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and other allied subjects with a view to promote effective co-ordination.

Create Physical, fiscal and administrative facilities required for implementing research projects.
Orienting research to meet the needs of the rural stakeholders, Integration of research, extension, teaching and participation of research workers in teaching and extension activities.
Foster and co-ordinate public, private and rural community partnership in research through pure, applied and participatory research and develop eco-friendly technologies.
Develop Integrated energy modules (electrical, wood, wind, biogas, biomass, solar) and systems for efficient utilization and attain self sufficiency

Create research opportunity for evaluating and commercialization of ethnic, cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, skill and wisdom existing in rural communities and passing on the economic benefit to innovators and stake holders.
Evolve policies and promote practices to improve agriculture productivity through adoption of judicious natural resource management technology and to generate higher income through integrated farming system approach,
Enabling policies for rural infrastructure, agro and non-agro based industries, entrepreneurship development, and market linkages- leading to employment and wealth creation and avoiding migration to cities.

Integrated Livestock Farming Project.
Fodder cultivation and development of fodder demonstration plots with advice from IGFRI.
Desi Cow and Goshala Projects.
Biofuel Research, Information and demonstration Centre in collaboration with Karnataka State Bio Energy Development Board.
DeSSi Malige. has been established in the University Campus to promote Khadi and products of Village industries, NGOs and Co-ops and those produced by the Uinversity under the various projects.

Research and Evaluation undertaken.

Imapct Assesment of works undertaken under MGNREGA in 12 Districts of Karnataka. Study conducted for the Dept of RDPR Govt of Karnataka.
MBA students participated in Action Research conducted for evaluation of Higher Education Institutions by MGNCRE.
Preparation of Perspective plan for Gram Panchayats of Gadag District ,by PG students of MSW/ RDPR/DE/ PA.
Solid Waste Management Audit in 5 talukas of Gadag District by students of MSW Dept.- Is in progress
Study on Impact Assessment of Providing Supplementary Nutrition to Children studying 1st to 8th Standard Govt schools in Yadgir District instituted by Dept of Public Instructions Govt of Karnataka.
Impact Assessment of Rural Libraries- Study conducted for IIPA.
Evaluation of 750 Gram Panchayats covered under the Amrut Gram Yojana.

Fostering of Research Culture

Faculty Development programs are arranged under the ageis of Kalam Research Forum with respect to capacity building for research work.
Ornagise Seminars to facilitate Faculty with Doctorates to make presentations on their research topics.
Encourage students and staff to publish papers in accredited Journals.

MOU with organisations of National and International repute

Facilitated execution of MOU with 33 organizations of International, National and Regional repute to foster collaboration in areas of mutual and common interest . Prominent among them are. ICRISAT, Kathmandu University, HWPL South Korea, IIIT Dharwad, IRMA Anand, CGBMT, ICMR, USTM Meghalaya, UAS Bangalore/ Dharwad, KVAFSU, Deshpande Startups,, GIMS Gadag , AYUSH. IIMR, IIPA, MGNCRE, etc.
